Thanks for posting such important information!

Since this information was gathered, a number of changes have occured. Many of the organizations listed above are no longer in service. In fact, there are only two official animal poison centers in the US: The Pet Poison Helpline (24/7 service, $35/case) and the ASPCA's Animal Poison Control Center (24/7 service, $60/case).

Pet Poison Helpline is staffed by multiple veterinary professionals and is available 24/7 for both pet owners and veterinarians. Additionally, our website (petpoisonhelpline.com) offers an immense amout of information including the Top 10 Toxins, a toxic plant listing, seasonal hazards, etc. Please visit petpoisonhelpline.com, follow us on Twitter (PetPoisonHelp) or become a fan on Facebook!

As for the other options mentioned above:
The Animal Poison Hotline closed in 2004 and the National Animal Poison Control Center is the same thing as the ASPCA's center.
As for K-State and Tufts, those services fluctuate with the faculty on staff and typically serve only local cases.

Thanks again for spreading the word and keeping pets safe!

Hair loss can be a lot simpler - poor nutrition and allergies to low-quality ingredients in your pet foods. I know, because I found out the hard way! My 15-year-old cat started losing large swatches of hair. Hundreds of dollars spent at the vet, and no diagnosis other than old age.

Well, a good friend of mine convinced me to try a holistic pet food that she feeds to the sick and injured animals at the animal shelter she works at. Two months later, my cat has all of his hair back and is back to bossing my dogs around, and generally running the house! The manufacturer makes great human and pet fish oil and supplements, but I find mine don't seem to need them!

More information: www.HumaneSocietyPetFood.com

It's also a huge relief to know that this food has never been subject to a recall! Now all of my pets are on it!

maybe you are thinking of Bloat?
some large breed dogs or dog with very deep chest can get there stomachs twisted.
this is a very life threatening condition and can kill the dog in hours if not treated...
treatment is Surgery to place the stomach back where it belong and then it is tacked to the wall or a rib to keep it from doing it again.

I don't know if there are any instances of this happening, although I am sure there has been, when humans are involved, we make mistakes!

Happens to people doctors all the time.
If you go to a good vet, no.
If you are cheap, then there is no telling what they can do.

I don't think so...but its normal to have a fear for that. It just means that you love them and feel for them. Also everyone makes mistakes but usually not that big of a mistake.
Hope I Helped!!
